TCI services comprise:

 

• Academic efficiency reviews, including workload modelling advice:

  • A criticism from academics is that the 'centre' doesn't understand the huge number of different activities that they can be responsible for. Workload modelling should provide a way to bridge this gap: a workload model identifies the different activities undertaken by members of academic staff and allocates an agreed time / 'budget' to each one. This allows academics, organisational units and institutions to construct a clear, costed and comprehensive picture of who is doing what, how much time they are dedicating to it, thus quantifying ‘value’. The model should assist in managing not just time, however, but performance, progression and functionality.
  • TCI’s specialist analysis and constructive advice can assist in getting the most out of your academic workload model.

 

• Faculty and Cultural reviews:

  • TCI can assess workplace dynamics and culture where it is evident that inappropriate behaviours, management practices or inherent pressures exist between staff or along reporting lines. The review shall be conducted in a cohesive and complete manner, examining: specific allegations or concerns; workplace culture; leadership styles; ‘change’; and (if necessary) operational issues. The scope and compass of the review shall be tailored, according to briefed requirements.

 

• Workplace investigations

  • TCI can conduct workplace investigations on behalf of the employer. During an investigation, we collect relevant evidence and other documents (depending on what's being investigated). We will request that parties provide us with evidence, and may offer witnesses (including the employer and employees) the opportunity to participate in a recorded interview. It is expected that supplied information, records or documents in an investigation are accurate and complete. Then, evaluation and advice on appropriate outcomes will be provided, in an objective and transparent manner.

 

• Expert reports - disputes and litigation

  •  Specialist opinions on an aspect of certain disputed matters are obtainable. TCI is qualified in its area of expertise, training and specialised knowledge – and available in relevant stages of disputes to offer expert reports to assist at certain critical junctures.
